about steiner
Bryon P. Steiner is a cartoonist, comic artist, graphic designer, and website designer from Sacramento, CA. He is also the owner of Steiner Designs, a graphic design / website design studio in the same city. He currently designs Luxury Home Magazine and owns a one-tree pomegranate orchard.
Bryon began drawing comics while working for the Orion Newspaper in Chico, CA. One day, the editor said, "We removed one of our comics and need another one to take its place." With ONE comic idea to his credit, and knowing NOTHING could be worse than the previous comic, Bryon inked his first cartoon: "Booster." It was nothing short of...mediocre.
By the next week, he was fresh out of ideas. He quickly got to work and gave birth to a new comic - one that actually made two people laugh. It was on that one comic that he built his global empire now known as Stranger than Friction® Comics.
Bryon admits the fame has not gotten to him at all. "The fame has not gotten to me at all," he says. Of course, there are many perks to being a published comic artist: he now lives in the posh "Watt Avenue" district of Sacramento, drives a sporty Honda Civic, and owns a 2-person inflatable raft.
When not drawing comics, Bryon also enjoys playing music, volunteering, and spending time with Coco, his therapy dog.
